Sure, Joe Cocker doing You Can Leave Your Hat On is creepy in an "Adrian Lyne softcore porn creepy" kinda way. Randy Newman, on the other hand, doing You Can Leave Your Hat On (which he wrote, by the way), alone at the piano is really creepy, in a "holy shit this guy sounds like a serial killer" kinda way.
Is this the intersection of Pixar core?

Yes, he really ups the creep factor on that one.

I'm actually always amazed that Pixar / Disney has buddied up to Newman the way they have. I mean, more power to them (and to Newman, obviously), because he's one of the most gifted songwriters of the last 40 years. Everyone knows "I Love LA" and "Short People" and all the songs from Toy Story, Cars, etc... But go back to "Sail Away" and he was doing some incredibly interesting and subversive stuff. (Greil Marcus has a great section in Mystery Train about Newman...)
