This week's gem from Lostpedia, a bon mot re. Christian: "Plenty of gifted doctors become alcoholics having never lived on a magical island."

I don't think the age thing between Young Rousseau and Old Rousseau adds up; when they meet her in 1988, she looks like she's 19, and in 2004 she's looks like she's in her 50's.

1) Island living is hard. It's possible she was just a young looking 24 and an old looking 40.
2) If she was 19, maybe the she's been through some of the island's "skips" and really was 55.

Another theory on that page, which we now know was correct! "She is Ellie. Ellie/Widmore's aging matches up with present-day Eloise/Widmore. It's actually Hawking and Widmore who are at odds over the island, and Ben is more than just Jacob's pawn, but also Hawking's pawn. The "rules" were established by Hawking and Widmore, Ben just followed them because Hawking demanded it. In season 6, Ben is going to be much less mysterious, and the Oceanic Six and Ben will be on completely even ground. It will be Hawking/Widmore who are the mysterious ones with all the knowledge."

I'm caught up; please resume the conversation here.
(a) Claire.
(b) Egyptian goddess?
(c) How does this tie in with the biblical scene with Charlie and the piano-in-the-ocean episode?

(a) Claire will definitely be back, and I think her fate (as Eve, or the mother (??) of Eve (Eve from the cave)) will be one of the great arcs of season 6.
(b) I think we know she's a fertility goddess/totema. And we know the relationship between mothers & fathers is one of the shared stories among the Lost characters. I'm not sure we're going to get more, I think it's a signifier, not a plot point.
(c) No idea.
(d) The device will be called the slate, the new Finder will be called Canvas.
