I would love the opportunity to live like "local commoners" in a far-off exotic place. What kind of society sees this as punishment?

@dusty - i highly recommend you check out my super sweet 16, which is exactly the ind of society that sees this as punishment. and that's what will make this such great television!

i saw the first episode, amanda in africa—she was clueless, uninquisitive and rude, and i felt really, really bad for the masai girl assigned to take care of her. i wonder if the producers warn the hosts what kind of girl they're going to be stuck with?

that and if their parents are ashamed at all at what they've done to their kids. ugh. anyway, i remember meleny and ava from my sweet 16, so i'm looking forward to their episodes!
